Unlike 1:1 coaching, team coaching explores issues that relate to collective performance, enabling the team to recognize and manage influences on its performance, now and in the future.
Team coaching takes a systemic view of these influences which may concern the team’s internal dynamics and/or how it interacts with its stakeholders. The goal is to create a team that provides high value to all their stakeholders (e.g. their employees, their leaders, their board of directors, their customers, their partners etc.) to transform the wider business.

Team development focuses on the internal dynamics of a team comprised of individuals. Team development often takes place in an offsite workshop comprised of one or two days.
In Systemic Team Coaching, learning takes place over a period of months in a combination of offsite and business as usual meetings. This allows time for the learning to be reinforced as the team conducts its business.
Systemic Team Coaching focuses on the context of the team as a collective entity and the connections and impact the team has with its stakeholders. There is great importance placed on the team discovering its purpose. In other words, what do the team’s stakeholders need from the team now and in the future?

We use a number of tools including tools for greater understanding of self and others such as Resilience@Work, Myers Briggs, DiSC and Emotional Intelligence. We also use a variety of team diagnostic tools and the Five Team Discipline approach (Peter Hawkins). These tools are used where appropriate and where they will be meaningful to the work of the individual and the team.
Sometimes we will coach the team as a whole and sometimes use a combination of individual and team coaching. It all depends on your needs and what we discover as we co-create your high value leaders and your high value team.
